2018 Bryce Hamilton Talks Top Six; Upcoming Visits

Bryce Hamilton Top Six

Bryce Hamilton, the 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Pasadena (CA) High School, spoke with D1VISION on Thursday about his top six schools. He broke down each school:

UNLV: “I feel like they’re a great program. They’re up and coming. Coach [Marvin] Menzies is new to UNLV and he thinks that I’m a player that can take them back to the top like they used to be.”

Colorado: “I like their playing style and their coach. Coach [Tad] Boyle is a good coach and they’re in a good conference in the Pac-12.”

Ohio State: “They’re in a good conference. I talk to coach [Chris] Holtmann a lot. He kept in touch when he left from Butler. I also like their playing style.”

Nevada: “They were one of my first offers. I like their playing style. They’re on top of the Mountain West and they’re an up and coming program.”

Utah: “I like coach [Larry Krystowiak]. He’s a good coach. They’re in the Pac-12 which is a good conference and their playing style is something I feel like I can fit into.”

Arizona State: “Coach [Bobby] Hurley is a good coach also. He lets his players play. They’re in a good conference in the Pac-12 and Hurley seems like a coach that can get them to the top of the Pac-12.”

Hamilton, who has an official visit planned for UNLV next month (Sept. 1), is in the process of planning more visits. “I want to take all five of my officials,” said Hamilton. “I’m planning those now. They’re also going to take home-visits so after that we’ll have official visits scheduled.”

With home visits coming up, Hamilton is in the process of setting those up. “Arizona State, Utah, and Colorado are coming in. The rest are still trying to find a date,” said Hamilton. “I believe Arizona State comes in on the first day (Sept.9). One of the other schools comes in on Saturday.”

In terms of coming to a decision, Hamilton is possibly looking to commit in the near future, as he said, “Most likely, before my high school basketball season. It could also be during or after but most likely before.”

With a possible decision upcoming, Hamilton has a good idea of what he’s looking for in a school. “Just a school where I can play from the jump and earn my spot,” he said. “I’m looking for a school that will give me exposure and develop my game for the NBA.”
