LaPorte (IN) La Lumiere 2017 five-star wing Brian Bowen will announce his college decision this Saturday.

“It’s about that time! Stay Tuned,” Bowen Tweeted.

News surfaced Thursday that Bowen has enrolled at the University of Louisville but has yet to sign a financial aid agreement. That news appears to be gaining serious steam on the 247Sports CrystalBall. Louisville has picked up the last eleven votes and has taken the lead over previously favored Michigan State.

Bowen is expected to announce his decision at 4:00 pm ET. Louisville adding Bowen this late may be a bigger shocker than even Kevin Knox to Kentucky. He took an unexpected unofficial to Louisville at the end of May, an unofficial that appears to have sealed the deal for the Cards.

Bowen would join a Cardinal recruiting class that already ranks 9th nationally and 2nd in the ACC. With his addition, the Cards would leap frog to number 6 nationally, right below one of Bowens potential landing places in Texas and just above a rising Alabama.

Arizona, Michigan State and Texas appeared to be the frontrunners. All three returned players who potentially could have remained in the NBA draft. The biggest shocker was the decision of Miles Bridges to spend at least one more season at Michigan State.

If Bowen opts for the Cards, he would join five-star Malik Williams and four-stars Darius PerryJordan Nwora and Lance Thomas as the fifth member of the Cardinals 2017 class.

The McDonald’s All-American is only one of two remaining uncommitted Top 100 players in the class of 2017. Bowen’s commitment would leave Tremont Waters as the lone uncommitted player.

Waters began an official visit to LSU on Wednesday. A commitment to the Tigers could occur prior to Waters even leaving campus in Baton Rouge. If so, the only remaining question may be who the last Top 100 player will be to officially announce a decision.
