Former Ohio State Commit Braxton Beverly is Headed to NC State

Braxton Beverly — the former Ohio State commit and Hargrave Military Academy (VA) 2017 point guard — has signed a financial aid agreement with the N.C. State Wolfpack, the school announced.

“I am excited to have Braxton join our program,” NC state head basketball coach Kevin Keatts said. “Braxton can really stretch the floor with his shooting ability and is tremendous coming off ball screens. He’s been at one of the premier prep schools in the country for the last two years, and will be an asset both on and off the floor for us here at NC State.”

Beverly will be immediately eligible and available for the 2017-18 season. Beverly joins four-star point guard LaVar Batts as the second member of the 2017 NC State class.

During his first season at Hargrave, Beverly averaged 20.1 points, 6.4 assists and 2.2 steals to help lead the team to the 2016 National Prep Championship with a record of 47-1. During his final season, Beverly recorded a 70 point, 6 assists, 4 rebound outing in a 131-86 win. Beverly finished 19 of 26 from the field, 14 of 20 from 3-point range and 18 of 20 from the free throw line, according to MaxPreps.
