Brandon McCoy “May” Announce His Decision This Wednesday

Brandon McCoy, the 6-foot-10 power forward from Cathedral Catholic (CA) High School, might make his college decision next Wednesday, he told Aaron Burgin Friday at San Diego County All-Star Game.

“I might make one next Wednesday but if I don’t, the end of this month, most likely,” said McCoy.”I’m in between one to two schools.” He is currently considering San Diego State, Oregon, UNLV, Michigan State, and Arizona.

McCoy broke down Oregon, San Diego State, and Michigan State at the McDonald’s All-American Game last month for ZagsBlog.

“Oregon, they’re making history out there,” he said. “They hadn’t made the Final Four in 78 years but they’re now in it. Obviously, coach Dana Altman knows what he’s talking about.

“[San Diego State coach] Steve Fisher is a great coach. He coached the Fab Five and coached Chris Webber, one of my favorite players of all-time.”

He was also asked about Michigan State coach Tom Izzo and what makes him such a great coach.

“What doesn’t make him a great coach?” McCoy said. “He’s a Hall-of-Famer, a great person. He really cares for his players and he’s a winner.”

McCoy has officially visited Arizona, Michigan State, Oregon and UNLV with San Diego State receiving multiple unofficial visits.

Oregon is the current leader on McCoy’s 247Sports CrystalBall, ahead of one-time leader Michigan State.
