Baylor Lands JUCO Guard Darius Allen

Darius Allen

Darius Allen, the 6-foot-5 shooting guard from Palm Beach (FL) State College, committed to Baylor on Thursday, per Jeff Goodman of ESPN. Allen will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Allen’s commitment comes after he took an official visit to Baylor earlier this month (Oct. 1). He chose Baylor over schools such as Wichita State, Iowa State, UTEP, West Virginia, Iona, and Kent State, among others. In addition to his Baylor visit, Allen also took official visits to Wichita State (Sept. 29) and West Virginia (Oct. 6).

Baylor currently has a 2018 recruiting class consisting of Matthew Mayer and Jeremiah Gambrell. Baylor players Manu Lecomte and Jo Lual-Acuil Jr. were named as honorable mentions for the Preseason All-Big 12 Team on Thursday.

The Big 12 Preseason Poll will be released Thursday, Oct. 19. Media Day will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 24 in Kansas City. The Big-12 announced attendees for Media Day on Tuesday.
