Arizona State Lands 2018 Guard Luguentz Dort

Luguentz Dort, the 6-foot-4 guard from Athlete (ON) Institute, announced his commitment to Arizona State on Wednesday at Athlete Institute’s Midnight Madness. He took his official visit to Arizona State last month (Sept. 15).

According to 247Sports, Dort is ranked as the No. 30 overall player in the Class of 2018 and the No. 6 player from the state of Florida. He joins Elias Valtonen as the second commit in the Sun Devil’s 2018 class.

Dort, who named his final three on Tuesday, chose Arizona State over Baylor and Oregon. In addition to his ASU visit, Dort also took official visits to Oregon (Sept. 8) and Baylor (Sept. 22). Before cutting to three, Dort was also considering Indiana, Miami, and Michigan State.

Playing with Brookwood Elite on the Adidas Gauntlet this past summer, Dort averaged 19.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2 assists per game while shooting 50 percent from the field.

After first receiving an offer from Arizona State this past summer, ASU assistant Rashon Burno was the lead recruiter for Dort.
