Javian Fleming, a 6-foot-9 center from Canton (MS) High School announced his commitment to Alabama on Friday via Scout.

“I chose Alabama because I got cool with their staff and I like their culture,” he told Scout. ” I like how their program has improved each and every year with their wins and their players. I just want to be apart of that type of program.”

According to 247Sports, Fleming is the No. 208 overall player for the Class of 2018 and No. 13 center. Fleming took official visits to Texas A&M (Sept. 15th), Georgetown (Sept. 22nd), and Alabama (Sept. 29th).

Fleming eventually narrowed it down to Georgetown and Alabama as his finalists.

Fleming was impressed with the Alabama coaching staff, “I get along with all of them, like they are all my dad,” Fleming added. “I can talk to them about anything, the recruiting process, life or anything. It’s cool to have a coaching staff that you can talk to about anything even when you aren’t committed to them.”

When talking to us at D1Vision back in August, Fleming had to say this about the Alabama program, “Just the way the program is changing and getting better year by year. Plus the relationship with the coaching staff.”

Fleming joins four-star point guard Jared Butler for Alabama’s 2018 recruiting class.
