Texas A&M Lands 2018 Four-Star Antwann Jones

Antwann Jones, a 6-foot-6 shooting guard from Oak Ridge (FL) High School announced his commitment to Texas A&M on Tuesday via Rivals.

Jones, orginally chose Oklahoma State over Kansas, NC State, and Memphis on September 17th. On September 28th, Jones decided to step down from his commitment to the Cowboys due to being linked with the college basketball bribery scandal, re-opening his recruitment.

“Due to the recent events that have taken place, my family and I have decided it’s in my best interest to de-commit from Oklahoma State University,” Jones said via a statement released on Twitter . “This decision wasn’t an easy decision to make, but it’s for the best. I appreciate all the love and support from Oklahoma State fans.”

According to 247Sports, Jones is the No. 71 overall player for the Class of 2018 and the No. 14 shooting guard. Jones, who recently took an official visit to Texas A&M on November 3rd, also held offers from LSU, South Carolina, Wake Forest, and Dayton amongst others.

Playing with E1T1 United on the Nike EYBL Circuit this summer, Jones averaged 10.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game, in 16 games. In five games at Peach Jam, Jones averaged 11.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game, in 5 games.

Jones becomes the first recruit for Texas A&M’s 2018 recruiting class.
